Designed for Complete Redundancy – No Single Point of Failure

Ensuring a 99.999% uptime is a challenging goal for any system. MiRTA PBX addresses this challenge with a straightforward yet effective approach: eliminating single points of failure. By enabling multiple servers to perform the same function from a user’s perspective, the system allows users to seamlessly connect to an available, functioning server. This redundancy not only enhances reliability but also ensures effortless scalability—simply add more servers to the pool to increase overall capacity without disruption.

Multiple Asterisk Servers

How do they work?

In MiRTA PBX, each client can connect to any Asterisk server within the PBX pool and access the full range of services, including internal and outbound calls, hunt groups, IVR, conferences, and voicemail. These services function identically, regardless of where a client’s peers are registered. A key advantage of this architecture is its dynamic adaptability—if a peer switches servers, all new calls are automatically routed to the new server without disruption. Additionally, providers can register DIDs across multiple servers to ensure redundancy, enabling efficient call routing among Asterisk servers to reach the registered peer. This approach guarantees seamless operation, high availability, and enhanced fault tolerance.

Multiple Database Servers

How do they work?

In MiRTA PBX, all system information is stored in a database, making database servers the most critical component of the infrastructure. The preferred database for deployment is MySQL, offering flexibility from a simple multi-master replication setup with two servers to an advanced distributed architecture with multiple database servers dedicated to web and Asterisk servers. Each database server in the pool contains a complete copy of the system data, ensuring that no information is lost in the event of a failure, as all data is continuously replicated across the cluster. Any Asterisk or web server can query and update any database server, with automatic synchronization maintaining consistency across the system. To further enhance performance, Asterisk servers leverage smart caching, reducing the load on database servers and optimizing system efficiency. This robust database architecture ensures high availability, fault tolerance, and scalability, making MiRTA PBX a reliable solution for mission-critical deployments.

Multiple Web Servers

How do they work?

The MiRTA PBX management interface is built using PHP, providing a user-friendly and flexible platform for configuration and monitoring. Since all system data is stored in a centralized database, the interface can be effortlessly replicated across multiple web servers, ensuring high availability and load balancing. Every aspect of system configuration and monitoring can be managed from any web server in the cluster. Because all information is stored in a replicated database, administrators can make changes from any instance, with real-time synchronization across all servers. This architecture enhances redundancy, fault tolerance, and scalability, making MiRTA PBX a robust solution for managing large-scale deployments.
