I ended up making a template, here it is. You'll have to replace 'yourdomain.com' with your domain name. Also this is set to work with DNS SRV. If you want A record, you'll need to read the notes and modify P103. The ATA will look to Grandstreams server on each boot to check for firmware updates.
This is for HT814. IF you want it to work on HT812, just remove the settings for FXS Ports 3 and 4.
